New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while creating history, addressed the nation for the first time during a religious festival from the Red Fort in the country's capital Delhi. During this, PM Modi remembered Guruji's sacrifice. Congratulating the Sikhs and the countrymen on the 400th Prakash Purv of the 9th Guru of Sikhism, Shri Tegh Bahadur, on Thursday (21 April 2022), PM Modi released a commemorative coin and postage stamp of Rs 400.

More than 400 Sikh musicians from different corners of the country organized in front of PM Modi at Red Fort. They were honoured with a shawl and a sarape. Congratulating the people of the country and the world on the occasion of Prakash Parv, PM Modi said, 'I am happy that today the whole country is walking on the ideals of our gurus.' He said that this Red Fort has been a witness to many important periods. This fort has also seen the martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and has also tested the courage of those who died for the country. Wherever we are, it is because of our thousands of freedom fighters. India is not just a country, but a heritage, a tradition. Ten gurus had dedicated their lives to its recognition.

Taking on the Mughal invaders, the Prime Minister said, 'Gurdwara Shishganj Sahib is also a symbol of the immortal sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji near the Red Fort. This holy Gurudwara reminds us how great was the sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji to protect our great culture. At that time there was a storm of religious fanaticism in the country. There were people in front of our India who considered religion as the subject of philosophy, science and self-research, who had committed violence and tyranny in the name of religion.''

Remembering the sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur, PM Modi said, 'At that time India saw a great hope to save its identity in the form of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. In front of Aurangzeb's tyrannical thinking, at that time Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji stood like a rock, becoming 'Hind di Chadar.' PM Modi said that even though the tyrant Aurangzeb had severed many heads, but could not separate our faith from us. The sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji has inspired many generations of the country to live and die to protect the dignity of their culture, for its honour and respect. Big powers have disappeared, big storms have calmed down, but India still stands immortal, and is moving ahead.'

PM Modi said that Guru Nanak Dev Ji united the entire nation in one thread. The followers of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji were all around. Patna Sahib in Patna and Rakabganj Sahib in Delhi, everywhere have 'Ek Bharat' in the form of the wisdom and blessings of the Gurus. He said that the government is making constant efforts to connect the pilgrimages of Sikh tradition. In memory of the great sacrifice of Sahibzadas, it has been decided to celebrate Veer Bal Diwas on 26th December. PM Modi said that Sri Guru Granth Sahib is not only a guide for self-welfare but also a living embodiment of India's diversity and unity. Therefore, when a crisis arises in Afghanistan and the question arises of bringing the forms of the Holy Guru Granth Sahib, the Government of India puts its whole power into it.
