New Delhi: Several dignitaries, including President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, PM Narendra Modi and Chief of the three Services , paid their last respects to the former President Pranab Mukherjee and paid tribute to him. The former president died on Monday evening at the Army's Research and Referral Hospital. He was 84 years old.

Pranab Mukherjee's body was brought from the hospital today to his official residence at 10, Rajaji Marg, where dignitaries paid tribute to him. Pranab Mukherjee will be cremated at 2 pm today at the Lodhi Road crematorium. On the death of the former President, the Union Home Ministry said that, 'The Union Cabinet expressed deep sorrow and expressed its condolences on the death of former President of India, Pranab Mukherjee. The cabinet also kept two minutes of silence in his memory.

Home Minister Amit Shah said that it is a matter of deep sorrow and shock for the whole country that former President Pranab Mukherjee, who was conferred with Bharat Ratna, did not live among us. Pranab Mukherjee had mastered the art of keeping everyone together. When in power, he always worked in coordinating with the people of the opposition. He said that when he became President, there was no shortage in increasing the dignity of the presidency. This was his big decision to open Rashtrapati Bhavan for the common man.
