New Delhi: This time the most shocking name of Modi government's cabinet is former foreign secretary Subramanyam Jaishankar.  PM Narendra Modi believed in Jaishankar and made him Cabinet Minister. Jaishankar has been involved in several diplomatic negotiations with the ASEAN countries including the US, China.

He is also known as close to PM Modi and China Expert. S. Jaishankar was born on 15th January, 1957 in Delhi. He is the brother of famous historian Sanjay Subramanyam and former Indian Rural Development Secretary S. Vijay Kumar. His family is wife Kyoko and three children. At present, Jaishankar was the Chairman of Global Corporate Affairs of Tata Group. Jaishankar and Modi are already related to Modi's becoming PM.

In 2012, when Modi went on a visit to China during Gujarat CM, at the same time, Jaishankar met him. It is said that Manmohan Singh wanted to make Jaishankar as foreign secretary in 2013, but then he chose Sujata Singh. After becoming PM, Modi chose Jaishankar for this post after Sujata. S. Jaishankar remained the Foreign Secretary from January 2015 to January 2018. Jaishankar was appointed after the cabinet meeting led by PM Narendra Modi.
