New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a tour of Kerala and Tamil Nadu today. He has reached Chennai in the first phase of his journey. Here he has handed over the indigenously developed new Arjun MK-1A tanks to Army. Along with this, he has also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of many projects here. Recently a statement from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) has been issued. In this statement, it has been said that "These projects include the Chennai Metro project and the launch of a petrochemical complex in Kerala."

On this tour, the Prime Minister launched the first phase of the Chennai Metro Rail Project. It is said to have cost Rs 3,770 crore to complete this extended project. It is actually connecting North Chennai to the airport and railway station. If you all remember, the Ministry of Defense had recently decided to include 118 upgraded Arjun Mark 1A tanks in the Indian Army. In fact, this tank valued at Rs 8,400 crore has been made entirely in India. DRDO has built and developed this tank completely and it is going to meet every need of the Indian Army.

In fact, the Arjun tank has been designed in DRDO Combat Weekly's Research and Development Establishment. According to the information received, the Prime Minister is going to dedicate the Propylene Derivatives Petrochemical Project (PDPP) of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited in Kerala to the nation. The complex will produce acrylates, acrylic acid, and oxo-alcohol, which are currently purchased from abroad.
