Mumbai: PM Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated the new campus of the Dawoodi Bohra community at Marol in Mumbai. He said that I am here neither as the Prime Minister nor as the Chief Minister. Very few people have the fortune that I have. I am associated with this family for 4 generations. All 4 generations have come to my house. Visiting Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah campus is like visiting my own family and I request you not to address me as PM as this is my family and I am at home.

Prime Minister Modi said that the Dawoodi Bohra community has always proved itself in the face of change with time and development. Today the expansion of important educational institutions like Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah is a living example of the same. A community, society, or organization is identified by how much it maintains its relevance over time. The Dawoodi Bohra community has always proved itself on this test of change and development with time.

The Prime Minister said that my relationship with the Dawoodi Bohra community is not only old, but is not hidden from anyone. During one of my visits, I saw Syedna sahab teaching more than 800 students at the age of 98. That incident continues to inspire me to this day. I go somewhere not only in the country but also abroad, and my Bohra brothers and sisters definitely come to meet me. No matter which corner of the world they are in, no matter which country they are in, their concern for India and love for India is always visible in their hearts.

The Prime Minister said that whenever I got the opportunity to interact with Syedna Mohammad Burhanuddin Sahab, his activism and cooperation always filled me with energy. Even after I came to Delhi from Gujarat, he kept showering love on me. In the field of education, India was once the center of universities like Nalanda and Taxila. People from all over the world came here to learn and study. If we have to bring back the glory of India, we have to bring back that glory of education. The Prime Minister further said that today the modern education system adopted in the Indian culture is the priority of the country. For this, we are working at every level. In the last 8 years, a record number of universities have opened and we are opening medical colleges in every district. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day visit to Maharashtra. He flagged off two Vande Bharat trains in Mumbai. This is the prime minister's second visit to Maharashtra in less than a month.
