NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on his record-breaking victory in the Champawat Assembly bypolls.
The people of the constituency were congratulated by Prime Minister Modi for putting their trust in the BJP.
By a record margin of 55,025 votes, Dhami won the My 31 Champawat Assembly bypolls.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote on Twitter, "Congratulations to Uttarakhand's dynamic CM @pushkardhami for the record win from Champawat." I am confident that he will work even more for Uttarakhand's advancement. I appreciate the people of Champawat for their support for the BJP, and I commend our Karyakartas for their dedication." In the Assembly elections held in February this year, the BJP made history by becoming the first party to retain power in the state for a second consecutive term since its formation.
It won 47 out of 70 seats in Uttarakhand for a second term, but incumbent Chief Minister Dhami was defeated by Khatima.
