Dehradun: The results of the fourth round of All India Tiger Estimation were released by PM Narendra Modi on the occasion of International Tiger Day. On tiger census, PM Modi released the data saying that the tiger population was 2,226 in 2014. It has increased to 2,967 in 2018. In Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, the tiger population has increased.
Releasing the data, Prime Minister Modi said, Uttarakhand has reached the third position in terms of tiger population. In Uttarakhand, 442 tigers were found. Uttarakhand had 178 tigers in 2006. The tiger population increased to 227 in 2010. The tiger population has increased to 340 in 2014 and the tiger population has reached 442 in 2018. For information here, Madhya Pradesh is number one in tiger cases. In Madhya Pradesh, 526 tigers were found, followed by Karnataka, where the tiger population is 524.
Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand have witnessed a steady increase in tiger population since 2006. However, the census of tigers in Uttar Pradesh in 2014 did not yield very encouraging figures. But in 2018, this figure can be said to be quite satisfactory.
