New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi will attend the convocation ceremony of Hyderabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy at 11 am today. PM Modi will address this function through video conferencing. PM Modi himself has given this information by tweeting. He wrote in a tweet that 'on Friday, September 4 at 11 am, I will address the convocation ceremony of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy of IPS Probationers through video conferencing.'

131 IPS officers including 28 women have completed their 42-week basic course first phase training at the academy. All these officers joined the academy on 17 December 2018 after completing their foundation course from Dr. Mary Channa Reddy HRD Institute located at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie Hyderabad.

During the basic curriculum, IPS officers are given training to probationers in many subjects like law, investigation, forensics, leadership and management, criminology, public order and internal security, ethics, human rights, modern Indian police system, strategy, weapons training.
