Pune:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Pune on 1st August, where he will be inaugurating significant infrastructure projects and housing schemes. The visit includes the flagging off of metro trains and inauguration of completed sections of two corridors under Pune Metro Phase I. The newly completed sections will connect key areas of Pune city, such as Shivaji Nagar, Civil Court, Pune Municipal Corporation office, Pune RTO, and Pune Railway Station.

Among the completed metro stations, the Civil Court station stands out as one of the deepest in the country, with its lowest point being 33.1 meters underground. Designed thoughtfully, the station's roof allows sunlight to reach the platform.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister will inaugurate a state-of-the-art waste-to-energy plant, established under the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) at an estimated cost of ₹300 crore. This innovative plant will utilize around 2.5 lakh metric tonnes of waste annually to generate electricity, contributing to sustainable waste management.

In addition to these infrastructural initiatives, PM Modi will hand over more than 1,280 houses constructed by the PCMC as part of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. He will also hand over more than 2,650 PMAY houses built by the Pune Municipal Corporation, fulfilling the aspirations of many families for their own homes.

During the visit, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for approximately 1,190 PMAY houses to be constructed by PCMC and over 6,400 houses built by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority, further advancing the goal of affordable housing for all.

The occasion will also see PM Modi receiving the prestigious Lokmanya Tilak National Award, honoring his exceptional contributions and leadership.

The visit to Pune marks a momentous event as the Prime Minister reaffirms the government's commitment to infrastructure development, sustainable energy solutions, and housing for every citizen.
