New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi  will disburse the 10th instalment of cash benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme via video conferencing on Saturday, Jaznuary 1, 2022, at 12:30 p.m.  Narendra Singh Tomar, the Union Agriculture Minister, will also be present.

According to the Prime Minister's Office, this is in accordance with the government's ongoing commitment and determination to empower small-scale farmers. This will facilitate the transfer of more than Rs 20,000 crore to more than 10 crore eligible farmer families.

The PM-KISAN scheme provides eligible beneficiary farming families with a financial benefit of Rs 6,000 per year, payable in three equal four-monthly installments of Rs 2,000 each. The funds are deposited immediately to the beneficiaries' bank accounts. So date, about Rs 1.6 lakh crore in Samman Rashi has been given to farming households through this scheme.

During the occasion, the Prime Minister will also distribute a Rs 14 crore equity award to 351 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), benefiting over 1.24 lakh farmers. During the ceremony, the Prime Minister will speak to FPOs and address the public.
