PM Modi to Visit Surat and Varanasi on December 17-18

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has scheduled visits to Surat in Gujarat and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh on December 17th and 18th, respectively. On the 17th, starting around 10:45 AM, he will open the New Integrated Terminal Building at Surat Airport. Following this, at about 11:15 AM, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Surat Diamond Bourse. Later in the day, he'll head to Varanasi, participating in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra around 3:30 PM, and inaugurate the Kashi Tamil Sangamam 2023 at Namo Ghat by approximately 5:15 PM.

The following day, on December 18th, around 10:45 AM, Prime Minister Modi will visit the Swarved Mahamandir, with its official inauguration during a public event at around 11:30 AM. Around 1 PM, he'll engage in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, and in a public function at approximately 2:15 PM, he'll inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for multiple development projects valued at over Rs. 19,150 crores.

PM's Plans in Surat

The inauguration of the New Integrated Terminal Building at Surat Airport is a significant highlight of the visit. This terminal, designed to reflect the local culture and heritage of Surat City, will handle a substantial volume of passengers. Equipped with sustainable features such as insulated roofing, energy-saving canopies, rainwater harvesting, and a solar power plant, the terminal is set to accommodate up to 55 lakh passengers annually.

Additionally, the inauguration of the Surat Diamond Bourse, touted as the world's largest and modern center for global diamond and jewelry trading, is on the agenda. The bourse will facilitate various facets of the diamond and jewelry business, including trading, retail, and international banking services.

PM's Agenda in Varanasi

In Varanasi, PM Modi will engage with beneficiaries of government schemes at the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra. Further, as part of promoting national unity, he'll inaugurate the Kashi Tamil Sangamam 2023 at Namo Ghat and launch the Kanyakumari – Varanasi Tamil Sangamam train.

The subsequent day in Varanasi involves the inauguration of the SwarVed Mahamandir in Umaraha, where the Prime Minister will address devotees. He'll also participate in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in Sewapuri and interact with participants of Kashi Sansad Khel Pratiyogita 2023 and beneficiaries of government schemes.

With a focus on transforming Varanasi's landscape and improving living standards, PM Modi will dedicate several development projects amounting to Rs. 19,150 crores. These include railway projects, the inauguration of the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Nagar-New Bhaupur Dedicated Freight Corridor, road inaugurations, housing projects, and initiatives under the Smart City Mission.

These initiatives aim to not only boost connectivity and infrastructure but also address housing needs, healthcare facilities, tourism, renewable energy, and water supply schemes in the region.
