Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi observed the 'Bharat Shakti' military exercise held at Jaisalmer's Pokhran field firing range on March 12th. This event spotlighted the firepower capabilities of homegrown weapons and the preparedness of all branches of the armed forces. Joining him were Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and MoS Kailash Chaudhary.

'Bharat Shakti' aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of domestically manufactured defense equipment across all three military services, explained Major General C S Mann, Additional Director General of the Army Design Bureau. He emphasized the exercise's focus on showcasing the combat abilities and operational synergy of the armed forces in addressing various threats using indigenous resources.

The exercise, unprecedented in scale, is not directed at any specific border or adversary, clarified sources within the defense establishment. Instead, it underscores India's preparedness to tackle present and future challenges with locally developed solutions.

The Prime Minister's Office highlighted the significance of 'Bharat Shakti,' emphasizing India's resilience, innovation, and strength in defense. The exercise exemplifies India's progress towards self-reliance in defense, showcasing the prowess of its armed forces and the dedication of the domestic defense industry.

Taking place in Jaisalmer's Pokhran district, the exercise also features systems and platforms integrated with artificial intelligence (AI), showcasing India's technological advancements in defense.
