Jakarta: PM Narendra Modi addresses people of Indian origin in Bali during the G-20 summit. During this, the Prime Minister said that the place with which India has had a relationship for thousands of years, where hundreds of generations have passed, but the people kept their tradition alive, would have had a different joy by coming to that land. PM Modi said that many generations have passed, but you never allowed your tradition to end.

PM Modi further said that today when I am addressing you here, the Bali Jatra festival is being celebrated in Cuttack, India, 1500 km away from here. This is a reflection of the relationship between India and Indonesia. He said that when I was here last time in Jakarta, I had seen and felt the affection of Indonesian people very closely. The joy I had flying kites with President Joko Widodo was amazing. I have a lot of experience of flying kites on Sankranti in Gujarat.

Referring to India's relations with Indonesia, PM Modi said that the land of Bali is holy because of the tenacity of Maharishi Markandeya and Agastya. If India has the Himalayas, Indonesia has Agung. If there is Ganga in India, then there is Tirtha Ganga in Bali. We start every work in India with the beginning of Ganesha. Here also Shri Ganesh is seated in every house.
