Guwahati: On December 15 in Guwahati, Assam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe are going to have an important meeting. For this reason, concrete separators have been covered with sheets of polyethylene to hide 'paan' stains on the freshly colored road dividers on GS Road in the city.

Although the city's main street dividers were painted black and white as part of the beautification work prior to this VVIP meeting, the dividers turned red with paan stains within minutes. The Guwahati Municipal Corporation has explored the option of covering the dividers with plastic sheets to avoid dyeing the road dividers repeatedly.

It is being told that even sheets of polythene could not prevent people from spitting betel leaf on the dewders, but because of the sheets, the newly dyed separator was safe from the stain of the pan. Municipal workers have informed the media that some people coming to the area who do not have a way of living in the society, after slowing down their vehicles, down the glass and beat the roadside on the road, Due to which the road is bad, as well as the risk of diseases remains.
