PM Narendra Modi’s Mother Heeraben Modi Passes Away at 100

New Delhi: Mother of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Heeraben Modi, aged 100, passed away on Friday morning. She was admitted to Ahmedabad's U N Mehta Hospital. PM Modi posted a series of condolence tweets on his Twitter account over the passing of his mother.

"A glorious century rests at the feet of God... In Maa, I have always felt that trinity, which contains the journey of an ascetic, the symbol of a selfless Karmayogi and a life committed to values." "When I met her on his 100th birthday, he said one thing, which is always remembered:-‘work with intelligence, live life with purity’, that is, work with intelligence and live life with purity," PM further said.

Tributes have begun pouring in after Prime Minister informed about her mother's demise through social media. Defence minister Rajnath Singh extended his condolences to PM Modi and his entire family.

After the unfortunate demise of his mother, Prime minster left for Ahmedabad where his mother was admitted. Initially, he was supposed to flag off Vande Bharat train in Howrah, Kolkata & other developmental works of railways and under Namami Gange in West Bengal. But now, he will be doing so through video conferencing, reports said.

Earlier, the PM Modi's mother's health was said to be improving earlier by the UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology & Research Centre. Heeraben, who was admitted on Wednesday to the UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre in Ahmedabad, would soon be released, the Gujarat Chief Minister's Office (CMO) stated in a statement.
