New Delhi:: A discussion on the no-confidence motion over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government started in the Lok Sabha today, August 8, with Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi initiating the debate.

Gogoi, in his eloquent discourse, postulated that the coalition of opposition forces under the banner of I.N.D.I.A. has thrust forth the no-trust motion as a clarion call for justice in the heartland of Manipur.

"The impetus propelling us towards this no-confidence motion is not merely a numerical calculus; it is an impassioned quest for justice befitting Manipur's aspirations. With conviction, I proffer the motion, beseeching this august House to voice its lack of confidence in the ruling dispensation. The I.N.D.I.A (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) has presented this motion, bearing the weight of Manipur's hopes for rectitude," intoned Gogoi with unwavering resolve.

Lamenting the Prime Minister's voluntary silence in the parliamentary forum, Gogoi opined that this silence had been shattered by the compulsion of the opposition, an imperative to dismantle this self-imposed "maun vrat" and pave the way for discourse.

"Why does the hush shroud Manipur's plight from the Prime Minister's gaze? Why, after the passage of nearly four score days, did a mere half-minute escape his lips, outlining Manipur's narrative? And why, in the face of such protracted turmoil, does the Chief Minister's chair remain unshaken? These questions, bearing the essence of Manipur's vexations, demand answers," Gogoi fervently articulated.

As the day's curtain unveiled, K Suresh, the torchbearer of Congress leadership, revealed that Rahul Gandhi, freshly reinstated as a Lok Sabha MP, would unfurl the discourse's opening chapter on this motion of mistrust.

Reports suggest a time allotment of 12 hours for the ensuing deliberation. The ruling BJP is poised to wield its oratory prowess for approximately seven hours, while the Congress contingent shall stake its claim for a succinct one hour and fifteen minutes.

In a calculated distribution, YSRCP, Shiv Sena, JDU, BJD, BSP, BRS, and LJP shall collectively wield a two-hour allotment, congruent with their representation in the parliamentary chamber. The mosaic of other parties and independent members shall be accorded a time limit of one hour and ten minutes.

The duel of rhetoric and reason against the BJP-led government, as instigated by the no-confidence motion, is slated to grace the annals of the Lok Sabha on the eighth and ninth of August. The denouement of this dialectical exchange shall witness Prime Minister Narendra Modi's retort, slated for the tenth of August.

Since the monsoon session's inception on July 20, members of the opposition have been consistently clamoring for deliberation under Rule 267 within the Rajya Sabha, a resounding voice echoing against the backdrop of Manipur's simmering cauldron.

For three months, Manipur has simmered in turmoil, a crucible forged by the clash of two ethnic behemoths - Meities and Kukis. The crucible was stirred when the Manipur High Court summoned the state administration to contemplate the inclusion of one of these communities into the pantheon of Scheduled Tribes, igniting a spark that illuminated the state's socio-political landscape.
