Police arrested a suspected drug smuggler with heroin in the Garchuk area in Guwahati. Police have also recovered two plastic soap cases containing 23 grams of heroin from the possession of the drug peddler.

Police have arrested the accused after acting on a specific input. Police have input that some drug peddlers were carrying suspected narcotic substances from the ISBT, Betkuchi to Garchuk, a team of police on Thursday intercepted the person. During the search, two plastic soap cases containing 23 grams of heroin were recovered from the possession of the drug peddler.

The arrested drug peddler has been identified as Faruk Hussain, a resident of Barpeta district. Police have registered a case at the Garchuk police station under the NDPS Act.
