Srinagar: Police have busted a terrorist hideout in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. During the operation conducted on Saturday, objectionable material was seized from the terrorists' hideout. The police spokesperson stated that the hideout was discovered in the Dalas Barneli area of the Arnas sub-division during a search and cordon operation.

Acting on reliable information about the presence of terrorists in the hideout, the police initiated the operation. Two detonators, 12 AK assault rifle bullets, one IED-enabled tape recorder, one calculator, one battery, and some connecting wires were recovered from the hideout. Reasi's Senior Superintendent of Police, Mohita Sharma, mentioned that the search operation is ongoing in the area. No terrorists have been apprehended from the hideout yet. Further information is being collected in this regard. The police are committed to thwarting any nefarious designs of anti-national elements.

It is noteworthy that elections are being held in five phases for the five Lok Sabha seats of Jammu and Kashmir, and the police are on high alert. In early April, Lashkar terrorist Junaid Ahmed Bhat was spotted with his associates in the gardens of Kulgam. A meeting was also held. Given this situation, it is believed that terrorists may target various places in Kashmir before the general elections.

Hence, police and security forces personnel are taking no chances. They are conducting searches of terrorist hideouts preemptively. It is worth mentioning that voting in the state is scheduled for April 19, 26, May 7, 13, and 20. The results will be announced on June 4. Additionally, the Lok Sabha elections will be held in seven phases across the country. Voting for the Udhampur seat in Jammu and Kashmir is scheduled for April 19, and for the Jammu seat on April 26. Voting for the Anantnag and Rajouri seats will take place on May 7. The Srinagar seat will go to the polls on May 13, and finally, voting for the Baramulla seat is scheduled for May 20.
