Mumbai: A woman was found injured on a railway track between Khandala and Karjat division of western ghats in Maharashtra. A team of policemen reportedly loaded him on a temporary stretcher and walked four kilometres to take her to the hospital. Officials have reported about the case today, Thursday. Officials said the woman is now undergoing treatment at a government hospital in Pune and is in good condition.
In this case, railway police said that Asha Waghmare (42) was found injured near railway tracks in Jamrang division. A team of four policemen made a stretcher with the help of bamboo and saree to take the woman to the hospital from the hilly area. The women were then taken by ambulance to the primary health centre at Karjat. In the case, Deputy Inspector of Lonavla Railway Police Vishnu Gosavi said, "On Monday, the station master of Lonavala railway station informed that a woman was lying injured on railway tracks in Jamrang division. Since the place is about 20-22 kilometres away from Lonavla, the nearest railway station Karjat was informed. A team of policemen and porters rushed to the station from there".
Gosavi also said, "The woman suffered a back injury and was lying near the tracks. It is being reported that it was not possible to transport the woman to the hospital by any vehicle due to hilly terrain and a trench on the other side. In view of this, without wasting time, the unhesitating policemen, with the help of a saree and bamboo, made a stretcher and walked four kilometres to palasdhari railway station. The rescue team consists of policemen PM Sarkale, DK Gangurde, MP Gaikwad, PA Turdar and a home guard.
