Hyderabad: The recent rains have filled many roads with potholes due to the casual attitude of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials. Due to these potholes, accidents are happening on the roads every day. And people are facing many serious health related diseases apart from getting injured. GHMC officials are identifying and restoring potholed roads zonal-wise in different parts of the city.
Commuters are still facing difficulties in some parts of the city and are demanding the civic body to resolve the issue at the earliest. Road users in many colonies in Kutakpally, Srinagar Colony, Jubilee Hills, Kuthbullapur face countless difficulties due to potholed roads. Last month, the civic body claimed that it has identified around 6,951 potholes in its limits and they have been restored.
Under the comprehensive road maintenance programme, another 3,568 potholes have been restored by their teams and most of them are in the Secunderabad region. Municipal officials said that their teams are taking note of public grievances through My GHMC app, Twitter etc and sending teams to fill potholes or repair the road.
