Amritsar: The anger of farmers in the country against agricultural laws is increasing. Former Punjab CM and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) veteran Prakash Singh Badal has returned his Padma Vibhushan honour in protest against the agricultural laws. Prakash wrote a nearly three-page letter to President Ram Nath Kovind, opposing agricultural laws, condemning action on farmers and giving his honour back with it.

Returning his Padma Vibhushan, former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal wrote, 'I am so poor that I have nothing else to sacrifice for the farmers, whatever I am, I am due to the farmers. If there is an insult to the farmers, then there is no use of having any kind of respect '. Badal wrote that the kind of deception that has been done to farmers has hurt him a lot. The way the farmers' movement is being misrepresented is painful.

Not only Parkash Singh Badal but Akali Dal leader Sukhdev Singh Dhindhsa will also return his Padma Bhushan honour to the Government of India. Earlier there was big opposition to the agricultural laws on behalf of the Badal family. Harsimrat Kaur Badal had resigned from the post of Union Minister and called the new laws of the Center a big fraud with the farmers. Not only this, Sukhbir Badal had announced to fight alone in Punjab elections, announcing Akali Dal's separation from NDA.
