A seven-month-old pregnant woman, who is a labourer in Surat, Gujarat, has travelled hundreds of kilometres to reach her village in Banda district with her two-year-old child. The road distance from Banda to Surat is 1,066 km. This woman used to work with her husband in a private factory in Surat, Gujarat.

I called the ambulance several times during such a day's journey, but did not get it." Dr Sampurnanand Mishra, Chief Medical Officer (CMS) of the Banda District Hospital said that "The couple has come to Banda on Tuesday, after an initial examination at the trauma centre, they have been taken by ambulance to their village Bhadaval."
