President Kovind to inaugurate a housing scheme for EWS in Gujarat today

New Delhi: Today in Bhavnagar, President Ram Nath Kovind will inaugurate a housing scheme for economically weaker sections (EWS). According to the Gujarat government, the President will also pay a visit to Morari Bapu's Ashram, Chitrakutdham, which is located near Mahuva town in the Bhavnagar district.

A press release issued by the President's secretariat on Wednesday read, "The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind will visit Gujarat from October 28 to 30, 2021. On October 29, 2021, the President will inaugurate a Housing Scheme Project for the Economically Weaker Section at Bhavnagar. He will also visit Shree Chitrakutdham, Ashram of Morari Babu at Talgajarda in Bhavnagar district."

President Ram Nath Kovind will arrive in Bhavnagar and then travel to Talgajarda, the hometown of religious preacher Morari Bapu. President Kovind will return to Bhavnagar city in the evening, where he would participate in a public ceremony to hand over more than 1,088 residences built for the poor and disadvantaged under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, according to the statement.

The President arrived in Gujarat on Thursday, beginning a three-day trip to the state. Following his arrival in the state in the afternoon, Kovind had high tea with Gujarat high court Chief Justice Aravind Kumar and other justices at the Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar. During the courtesy meeting, Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, and Union Law and Justice Minister Kiren Rijiju were also present, according to a release by the Raj Bhavan.
