New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind has left for a trip to three countries on Sunday i.e. Sunday night. In his nine-day tour, he will travel to Iceland, Switzerland, and Slovenia. President Kovind will strengthen bilateral relations by negotiating with the top leadership of the three countries during the visit. Foreign Ministry spokesman Ravish Kumar has given information in this regard by tweeting.
He said that the President left with a high-level delegation to maintain India's cooperation with Iceland, Switzerland, and Slovenia and further strengthen bilateral relations. President Kovind will be in Iceland from 9–11 September. From there he will travel to Switzerland and finally reach Slovenia on 15 September. He will return to India on 17 September. Pakistan did not allow the presidential aircraft to pass through its airspace.
In Islamabad, Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Saturday said that India's request for President Ramnath Kovind's visit to Iceland to let the plane pass through his airspace was rejected. On this, Foreign Ministry spokesman Kumar regretted Pakistan's decision not to allow the President to use his airspace for his flight to Iceland.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Kumar said that we regret the decision of the Government of Pakistan not to allow the VVIP special aircraft to pass through its airfield, as such approval is generally given by any country. We appeal to Pakistan to realize the futility of such unilateral steps. For your information, Pakistan is angry with India over the Kashmir issue.
