President to confer Nari Shakti Puraskars for years 2020, 2021

New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind will give Nari Shakti Puraskars to people in 2020 and 2021, he said in a speech on Monday.To celebrate "Azadi Ka Amritsav," the week-long celebration of International Women's Day began on March 1, 2022, in New Delhi. This was part of the celebrations.

The end of a week of events will be the awarding of the Nari Shakti Puruskar for the years 2020 and 2021 by the President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, at a ceremony in New Delhi on March 8, 2022. The award ceremony for the year 2020 could not be held in 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Prime Minister of India will also be having a conversation with the Awardees to recognise their work and encourage others to work for and improve women's rights. In total, 29 people will be given awards for their work to help women, especially those who are vulnerable and marginalised. In 2020 and 2021, there will be 14 awards each for 14 people.

'Nari Shakti Puraskar' is a project of the Ministry of Women and Child Development that recognises people and organisations that have made a big difference. It also recognises women as game changers and catalysts for positive change in society. Entrepreneurship, agriculture, innovation, social work, arts and crafts, STEMM, wildlife conservation, and more are some of the fields in which the winners of the Nari Shakti Puraskar for 2020 come from. This year's winners are from linguistics, agriculture, social work, arts and crafts, Merchant Navy, STEMM and more. They are also winners of the Nari Shakti Puraskar for the year 2021.
