New Delhi: Prithvi Shaw, who is running out of the Indian cricket team, has created history in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He played an unbeaten double century against Puducherry, playing for Mumbai in Jaipur on Thursday. Shaw played a captaincy innings of 227 runs in just 152 balls, which included 31 fours and 5 sixes.

This is the highest score made by an Indian captain in List-A matches. Earlier in 2011, Virender Sehwag played 219 runs captaincy innings while playing against West Indies. Prithvi has also made the highest score of Vijay Hazare Trophy. Earlier this record was recorded in the name of Sanju Samson of Kerala. Samson scored 212 runs in the match against Goa in 2019. Earlier in the match of Elite Group 'D' in the 50-over tournament, Puducherry decided to bowl first after winning the toss. After this, Prithvi Shaw beat the Puducherry bowlers fiercely. He completed his double century off 142 balls, in which he hit 27 fours and 4 sixes.

With this record innings of 21-year-old Prithvi, Mumbai scored 457 runs for 4 wickets in the prescribed 50 overs. This is the highest score in List-A matches played in India. This is the second highest score by an Indian team in List A matches. India-A scored 458/4 against Leicester in 2018, which is an Indian team's record.
