Priyanka Gandhi is on a three-day visit to UP, will be visiting Ayodhya disputed land

Ayodhya: On Friday, Congress general secretary for eastern Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi, who is on a three-day visit to Uttar Pradesh will be visiting Ayodhya, the epicentre of Ram Janmabhoomi dispute. The Congress leader will begin her Ayodhya visit by offering prayers at Hanuman Garhi temple before holding a grand 50-km roadshow in Faizabad-Ayodhya. Gandhi had addressed rallies in his brother and Congress president Rahul Gandhi and mother Sonia Gandhi's constituency – Amethi and Rae Bareli respectively and also met party workers. Addressing a rally in Amethi, she had asked her party workers to prepare for the UP assembly polls that are scheduled to be held in 2022.

Here it is to be noted that this is Gandhi’s second tour to the state of Uttar Pradesh, with the first being the Ganga Yatra from Prayagraj to Varanasi. Pragya Deb Burman, Congress candidate for East Tripura (ST) Lok Sabha seat, who launched her election campaign on Thursday in Agartala said, "I believe Congress is going to come to power. It's going to be a win-win situation for us. My primary agenda is Citizen Amendment Bill. It should be scrapped"

It is worth mentioning here that the Lok Sabha elections will be held in seven phases from April 11 to May 19 and the counting will be done on May 23. The 80 parliamentary constituencies of Uttar Pradesh will go to polls in seven phases The Congress party on Thursday night released a list of 31 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The list includes names of 19 candidates for the state of Rajasthan, and six each for Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat.
