Mumbai: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has made a major revelation in the court in connection with the murder of Umesh Kolhe in Amravati, Maharashtra. The NIA told the court on Friday (August 5, 2022) that the arrested clerics Mushfiq Ahmed (41) and Abdul Arbaaz (23) had a biryani party to celebrate after killing Umesh Kolhe.

The NIA said that many more people were invited to this biryani party. Informing the court about this, the NIA said it now has to find out who had attended the dinner party. In the Umesh Kolhe murder case, the NIA on Wednesday (August 3, 2022) arrested two more accused, named Maulvi Mushfiq Ahmed and Abdul Arbaaz. The accused were cross-examined by advocate Ali Kashif Khan Deshmukh in court. After hearing both sides, the judge remanded both the accused to NIA custody till August 12.

According to the NIA, Ahmed had provided logistical support to the accused. Arbaaz had kept an eye on Umesh Kolhe and his shop. The investigating agency also told the court that the duo had also helped the other accused to escape after Umesh's murder. Kolhe was murdered in Amravati city on June 21 for sharing a post supporting former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma over his remarks on Prophet Mohammed.
