Protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and NRC were also held in Jamia and Shaheen Bagh on Saturday. Students and local people are adamant on demanding the withdrawal of CAA and NRC. Local people sitting on dharna in Shaheen Bagh say that they will start the Jail Bharo movement from Sunday in protest against this law. According to media reports, former MP Ali Anwar Ansari and former MLA from Chandni Chowk Alka Lamba also reached Jamia in support of students and locals. Both protested the citizenship law and demanded immediate withdrawal of the cases filed on students and others. Anwar said that the CAA is against the Constitution. The central government wants to divide people on the basis of religion. Alka Lamba, former MLA from Chandni Chowk, said that keep your talk as peaceful as possible. He cautioned the students and local people that some people want to weaken their movement by conspiring.
