Political crisis on CM Narayanasamy chair, power test in Puducherry today

Puducherry: Narayanasamy government of Puducherry is turning into a crisis. Two more MLAs of the Congress-DMK alliance have resigned on Sunday. This is seen as another major setback for CM V Narayanasamy before he proved his majority in the assembly today on 22 February.

MLA of Congress following the resignation of Lakshminarayanan and DMK MLA Venkatesan, the Congress-DMK alliance has reduced the number of MLAs to 11 in the 33-member assembly, while the opposition parties have 14 MLAs. Lakshminarayanan and Venkatesan submitted their resignations to Assembly Speaker VP Sivakolundhu at his residence. After this, Lakshminarayanan told the press that, 'Narayanasamy led government lost majority.'

MLA K Lakshminarayanan further said that he has also resigned from the membership of the party. At the same time, Venkatesan spoke to the press saying that he has only resigned from the post of MLA and he will remain a part of the DMK. He said, 'I was not able to meet the needs of my people in my constituency, because funds have not been allocated under MLA Local Area Development Fund.' The elections are going to be held in Puducherry very soon.
