Punjab gov't big decision, School decides to ban arbitrary schooling

Amritsar: The Congress government in Punjab has imposed a ban on the sale of uniforms and books in the school premises. State Education Minister Inder Singla on Saturday informed this. He said, instructions have been issued to all private schools affiliated to CBSE, ICSE and Punjab School Education Board not to ask parents to purchase school uniforms and books from their designated shop or firm.

The guidelines also state that uniforms offered once in school should be run for at least three years. No change in its colour or design should be made during that period. In addition, it has been made mandatory for school authorities to use approved books based on board courses and upload a list of those books on the school's website.

Since the government's decision, it depends on the discretion of students and parents where to buy textbooks. Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has also issued Board Results for 10th-12th. Where 85.8 per cent of the students in 10th have had success. On the other hand, 86.41 per cent students have achieved success in class XII.
