Punjab: Car exploded at election meeting site in Bathinda

In an election meeting yesterday in Bathinda district of Punjab an explosion in a car killed around three people while 15 other suffered injuries. Harminder Singh Jassi, Congress Maur candidate when finished off his speech, after which the explosion took place.

Suresh Arora, DGP of Punjab as per the sources news said “Forensic and ballistic experts are reaching the spot tomorrow morning. As per preliminary investigations by local police, we cannot rule out the terror angle,” 

The police also found a pressure cooker from the spot. The car in which explosion occurred got fully damaged.

As per the sources news, Latif Ahmed the Maur Mandi SDM said “Three persons have died in the blast and a pressure cooker has been recovered. We are not sure what caused the blast. The car in which the blast occurred has been damaged completely.”
