Amritsar: Punjab's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) unit on Monday accused the Congress party of taking several crores of rupees from three companies. According to the allegation, the thermal power plants of these three companies are located in Punjab. Punjab AAP unit chief Bhagwant Mann showed some papers to the media while holding a press conference in Chandigarh on Monday. According to this, Larsen & Turbo Company has allegedly paid Rs 18.25 crore to the Congress party between 2004 and 2014. The company has a thermal power plant located in the Talwandi Sabo area.
According to Bhagwant Mann's claim, the Congress has received Rs 10 crore on May 5, 2004, Rs 2.25 crore on March 30, 2009, Rs 1 crore on April 1, 2010, and Rs 5 crore on April 1, 2014. Vedanta company has also given money to congress, which has a thermal power plant in Rajpura, as alleged by AAP. AAP has alleged that the company has given Rs 5 crore to congress on April 2, 2009, and Rs 2 crore on March 3, 2012.
Bhagwant Mann alleged that Sterlite Industries had also given Rs 10 crore to the Congress party on January 27, 2005. Which has a Goindwal Thermal Power Plant. The Punjab AAP President said that the Punjab government remained silent on the agreement of power purchase by the Shiromani Akali Dal (ShiAD) government, and benefited these companies.
