Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party MLA H.S. Phulka's resignation has been accepted by the Speaker of the Assembly. Assembly Speaker Rana KP has accepted the resignation of H.S. Phulka on Friday. Earlier, H.S. Phulka had written a letter to Assembly Speaker Rana KP urging him to accept his resignation and warned that if his resignation was not accepted, he would be forced to go to the Supreme Court.
It is worth mentioning that H.S. Phulka resigned as his MLA on October 8, 2018. In a letter to Assembly Speaker Rana KP, Phulka had said that his resignation should be accepted so that by-elections in Fagwara and Jalalabad could be held as well as by-elections in Vina.
In fact, MLA Sukhbir Badal from Jalalabad in Punjab and MLA Som Prakash from Fagwara have now become MPs by winning the Lok Sabha elections. It is believed that by-elections to these two assembly seats may be held soon. S.H. Phulka wants by-elections to be held in the State Assembly after his resignation.
