Spanish tennis legend Rafael Nadal has made a strong start to 2022. The 35-year-old has entered the final of the Melbourne Summer Set ATP 250. He defeated Finland's Emil Rusuvuori 6-4, 7-5 in straight sets on Saturday. Nadal is now set to take on world number 112 Maxim Cressy of the UNITED States in the final.

Nadal returned from injury to play his second competitive match and has registered a win. He has been removed from the tennis court on August 5, 2021, due to a left leg injury. After which he participated in the exhibition match in Abu Dhabi in December but lost to Britain's Andy Murray here. Nadal then got infected with covid and underwent treatment.

Nadal, 35, clashed with Ricardas Beranquis in the last 16 rounds on Thursday but got a walkover here and reached the semifinals. Nadal had also participated in the Melbourne Summer Set doubles event but withdrew from the last 16 rounds on Thursday.
Rafael Nadal, who won 20 Grand Slams, is now eyeing a record 21st title. He is set to land his second Australian Open title since 2009.
