England captain Kevin Pietersen, while increasing the impact of Rahul Dravid on his batting, has told that the advice of the legendary Indian batsman about how to play spin has opened up new avenues for him. Peterson said his IPL experience, playing with world-class players like Dravid and Virender Sehwag helped him increase his shot.

Pietersen played for IPL teams like the erstwhile Deccan Chargers, Delhi Daredevils, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad. The former England star batsman said, "Dravid wrote me the most beautiful email, said about the art of playing spin and since then I had a new world."

During the discussion on the change in ODI batting over the years, Peterson said on Sky Sports, "The most important thing is that we should see his length as soon as the ball is thrown and wait for the spin and make our decision." He scored 8181 runs in 104 Tests at an average of 47.28 while in 136 ODIs he scored 4440 runs at an average of 40.73. Peterson said that the 'switch hit' shot of his headlines also had the role of playing squash for hours at a young age.
