Mumbai: A Mumbai court has dismissed an appeal by former Congress president Rahul Gandhi and CPM national general secretary Sitaram Yechury in a case related to defamation filed against him by an activist of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). An appeal was made to the court to dismiss.
Actually, there are allegations against Sitaram Yechury and Rahul Gandhi that they had allegedly linked the murder of the journalist Gauri Lankesh to the RSS. Against this statement, a complaint was filed by Sangh activist and advocate Dhritiman Joshi, in which an appeal was filed against Sitaram Yechury and Rahul Gandhi for running a defamation case. The next hearing in this case will now be held on 6 January.
The court has put together separate petitions of Sitaram Yechury and Rahul Gandhi, in which Rahul Gandhi said that it is improper to combine cases against him and Sitaram Yechury. Let us tell you that Sitaram Yechury and Rahul Gandhi are individuals of different political parties. The two ideologies are also different. Sitaram Yechury, referring to this, accused the defamation petition from the court. Metropolitan Magistrate PI Mokashi rejected the application of Rahul Gandhi and Sitaram Yechury.
