If you are planning to travel by train on Monday, postpone it for 1 day as farmers opposing agricultural laws passed by the Central Government have announced to launch Rail Roko agitation. Farmers will disrupt train traffic by staging strikes on railway tracks. Trains going towards Ludhiana, Delhi and Jammu will be affected during the Rail Roko agitation. The farmers have chalked out a strategy to stage a protest on the track at Kala Bakra railway station, Dakoha Gate and Dhannowali Road at three places in Jalandhar.

Mukesh Chandra, a member of the same United Kisan Morcha, said that farmers have been struggling for nearly a year demanding repeal of the Agricultural Reforms Act and other issues. The government's ears are not even ringing over the matter. The United Kisan Morcha on Monday announced the Rail Roko agitation. From 10 am to 4 pm, farmers will stage protests on railway tracks and stop trains. The Doaba Kisan Sangharsh Samiti will stop the railway track by staging a dharna at the Kala Bakra railway station.

District Chief of Bharatiya Kisan Union (Rajewal) Mandeep Singh Samra, Chief Spokesperson Jathedar Kashmir Singh Jandiyala and District Youth Pradhan Amarjot Singh said that under the banner of Bharatiya Kisan Union, farmers will stop trains near Dakoha gate in Jalandhar. He said that the three major demands are cancellation of agricultural reform bills, separate MSP laws, repeal of electricity act 2020 and pollution law. Kirti Kisan Union Chief Salwinder Singh said that the train will be stopped by the organization by staging a protest on the railway track at Dhannowali village on the National Highway.
