Jaipur: The Rajasthan government has once again announced a fresh probe into the acquittal of all the accused in the Mob Lynching case. The Rajasthan government has asked for setting up of an SIT to probe the matter this time. The deceased Khan may or may not have received justice, but the Rajasthan government has set a new record of investigation in the case.

However, Khan's son has reacted to the formation of the SIT, saying it has given hope for justice. The SIT set up to look into the matter will submit its inquiry report to the state government within 15 days. Nitin Dev has been appointed DIG of the SIT's Chief Special Operations Group, while the state's ADG Crime BL will monitor the Sony probe. The SIT team also includes CBCID SP Sameer Kumar Singh.

The SIT will mainly identify the officers who have been involved in the investigation of the Khan murder case and the correctional officers of the accused. The SIT will also collect oral and paper evidence besides identifying officials who are negligent in investigating the case. CM Ashok Gehlot held a meeting with officials at the Chief Minister's Secretariat till late in the night on the issue.
