Rajasthan: In the wake of escalating tensions between Russia and Ukraine, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced on Saturday that Rajasthanis returning home from Ukraine will be paid for their travel expenditures.
"During the war crisis between Ukraine and Russia, after the Ministry of External Affairs' recommendation, the ticket amount of Rajasthanis returning to their country from personal expenses would be repaid," the chief minister wrote on Twitter.
"The Rajasthan government has issued instructions to make it easier for Rajasthanis arriving at Delhi, Mumbai, and other airports to be delivered to their homes. The Rajasthan Foundation will be in charge of coordinating this "Gehlot used Hindi in his tweets.
Local media claimed on Friday that a number of explosions were heard in Ukraine's capital city as the Russian special military operation started its second day. Russian President Vladimir Putin acknowledged Donetsk and Luhansk, Ukraine's breakaway regions, as independent entities on Monday. Later, Putin ordered special military operations in the Donbas region "to protect" the people.
Several countries have denounced Russia's military operations and put sanctions on Moscow, including the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and the European Union.
