RBI to issue Rs.10 coin with Ambedkar's birth date

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) decided to issue 10rs coin with mark of Ambedkar anniversary date shortly, on the occasion of 125th birth anniversary of Dr. B.R.Ambedkar. The coin will be designed with outer ring of the bi-metallic coin is composed of aluminum bronze alloy and the centre piece is made up of cupro nickel.

The obverse face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of the Ashoka Pillar in the centre with the legend 'Sathymeva Jayathe' inscribed below ,flanked on the left periphery with the word 'Bharat' in Devnagri script and on the right periphery with the word 'India' in English and it shall also bear the Rupee symbol and denominational value '10' in the international numerals below the Lion Capitol.

However, Dr. Ambedkar's portrait would be in the reverse face of the coin in the centre with description 125th birth anniversary of Ambedkar in Devnagri script in upper side and english in lower side.
