Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has approved to start regular classes in degree colleges on October 1. Deputy CM Dr CN Ashwath Narayan has given this information on Wednesday. Ashwath Narayan also said that the Higher Education Department will wait for the Central Government guidelines regarding the opening of the colleges. The Deputy CM indicated that the final decision in this regard will be taken later.

Significantly, due to the lockdown, colleges have been closed since March. Narayan, who is also a higher education minister, said that online classes will start on September 1. He told reporters, "The government has decided to start all academic activities digitally next month. Apart from this, all the colleges will open in October and students can attend them online. ''

He further said that after the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC), the state government has made extensive preparations for starting offline classes (personal appearance). But they did not give any indication as to when the schools will be opened. Covid-19 cases in the state have crossed 3 lakh and with the arrival of 8,580 new patients of Corona on Wednesday, the total number of infected in the state has increased to 3,00,406. The Health Department said that 133 more people died due to corona infection on Wednesday, including 5,091 infected people have lost their lives so far.
