Amid the ongoing corona epidemic in India for the past few months, the Karnataka government's Department of Health and Family Welfare informed that people returning to Karnataka from other states will have to remain in institutional quarantine, even if they do not have symptoms of coronavirus.

An order issued by the state's Health and Family Welfare Service has said, "All persons returning from any state to Karnataka will be kept in institutional quarantine". It further states that those who are claiming of coming from Goa will be verified by the District Deputy Commissioner and in the event of not enough capacity available, keep them in the quarantine of the house for a period of 14 days. The Deputy Commissioner / Special Commissioner, BBMP will fix the rates for hotels where people from outside will stay on daily payment basis.

3,604 new cases of corona have been reported in the country in the last 24 hours. During this time 87 people have died due to coronavirus. According to the Ministry of Health, the number of patients infected with the coronavirus in the country has increased to 70,756. Out of this, there are 40,008 active cases, while so far 22,454 people have been cured. So far, 2,293 people have died due to the deadly virus in the country.
