Tripura: Next month, RSS leader Mohan Bhagwat will visit Tripura to inaguate a  temple located in the Gomati district of the Santikali Ashram.

A religious organisation called Santikali Ashram promotes Sanatana Dharma among both tribal people and non-tribal people by operating up to 24 temples in tribally dominant areas.

Saints from Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh will also attend the temple's opening ceremony, according to the ashram's leader, Chitta Maharaj.

The RSS Chief is scheduled to inaugurate the temple at Santikali Ashram in the Sarbong area of the Amarpur subdivision on August 27, Maharaj said.

The founder of the Sri Santikali Sevashra, Acharya Santikali,  who had taken a key role in promoting Hinduism in tribal areas, was shot dead by insurgents in 2000.

Maharaj said that the Sevashram had been carrying out Santikali's 'unfinished work' of protecting and promoting the Sanatana Dharma. Maharaj stated that despite the lack of temples in the state's hilly regions, Hinduism is being protected and promoted there.

He made an appeal for donations to help with the ongoing construction of the temple.
