THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The controversial K-Rail and the issues Sabrimala temple are being discussed at all CPI-M metering in Kerala, with members questioning some leaders' "double standards."

K. Ananthagopan, a veteran CPI-M official who was the top party leader in Pathanamthitta district, where the iconic Sabarimala temple is located, is the current president of the Travancore Devasom Board (TDB).

Without naming the leader, it was stated that some people do not visit temples until they reach such positions, but once they do, they are seen in temples.  Those who attended the sessions wanted to discover if these leaders were deceiving the party or the devotees.  Ananthagopan was spotted in front of the Sabarimala temple last month, a day before the temple began for the two-month festival season.

Another topic of discussion at the meetings is the now-contentious K-Rail project, with party workers and leaders unable to explain why the CPI-M is staunchly opposed to a similar high-speed rail project in Maharashtra while Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan wants the same project implemented
