Jaipur: Senior Congress leader and former deputy CM Sachin Pilot on Friday exuded confidence that his party will do well in the February 20 assembly elections in Punjab and return to power with an overwhelming majority.  Sachin Pilot said in a press conference that we will again come to power in Punjab with a thumping majority. Along with Pilot, Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera also addressed the press persons.

Pilot said former Congress president Rahul Gandhi has already said that the party will contest elections in Punjab with the face of the future CM and a decision in this regard will be taken after consulting party workers. Asked about elections in other states, Pilot said, "I am sure that we will form the government in Goa, Uttarakhand and Punjab too.''

Sachin Pilot further said that he was involved in the election campaign in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday and had accused the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) of failing to play the role of the opposition. "For five years, neither the SP nor the BSP played the role of the opposition. Whether it is Lakhimpur Kheri or Unnao, Hathras or the Dalit issue, every time the Congress party came forward.''
