New Delhi: Samjhauta Express remains in the limelight following India's decision to revoke Section 370 and Article 35A from Jammu and Kashmir. On Thursday, Pakistani Railway Minister Parishad Ahmad Khan tweeted that the Samjhauta Express is closed forever. Ticket charges will be refunded without any cancellation charge deducted for those who have already purchased tickets for the same.

The Samjhauta Express between India and Pakistan opened from Attari with a delay of four and a half hours. The train arrived in Delhi at around 8.30 pm. It was open from Attari to Delhi at 1:30 PM. A total of 117 passengers have arrived in Delhi by Samjhauta Express. These include 76 Indians and 41 Pakistani passengers. The Samjhauta Express at the Wagah border was stopped citing security concerns, after which an Indian crew and guard diverted the train from Attari to India.

Pakistan on Wednesday announced its decision to downgrade diplomatic relations with India. Citing India's move to annul Section 370 of the Constitution granting special status to Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan said it would expel the Indian High Commissioner and suspend bilateral business with India.
