Veterans and filmmakers of the Indian cinema world, who have given special recognition to the Indian cinema world at the international level through the films produced by them. Satyajit Ray, remembered as the famous filmmaker of the Indian film world, was born on 2 May 1921 in a high family of Calcutta. Satyajit Ray was honored with an Oscar in 1992 in recognition of his remarkable career. Satyajit Ray's grandfather Upendra Kishore Ray was a scientist, while his father Sukumar Ray was a writer. Satyajit Ray completed his graduation from the famous Presidency College in Calcutta. After this, at the behest of his mother, he enrolled in Rabindra Nath Tagore's Santiniketan, where he got a chance to come closer to nature.

Beginning of Satyajit Ray's career: Satyajit Ray started his career in 1943 with the British Advertising Company as a junior visualist, where he used to get 18 rupees a month as remuneration. Meanwhile, he joined DK Gupta's publication house Signet Press and started working as a cover designer. As a designer, he designed many books, in which Jawaharlal Nehru's Discovery of India is prominent. After this, in 1949, Satyajit Ray met French director Jean Renoir, who at that time had come to Calcutta in search of a shooting location for his film The River. Jean Raynor recognized Satyajit Ray's talent and advised him to make a film.

Success from this film: Satyajit Ray got a chance to go to London in 1950 due to his company's work where he saw about 99 English films. During this, he got a chance to watch an English film, Bicycle. Satyajit Ray was greatly impressed by the story of the film and decided to become a filmmaker. The pace of production of the film Pather Panchali slowed down. Later the film could be completed with the help of the Government of West Bengal. The film Pather Panchali, released in the year 1955, was shown houseful for almost 13 weeks in Kolkata cinemas, this film was also given a special award for Best Human Document at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival held every year in France.

Beginning of Jaya: Satyajit Ray re-founded his grandfather's magazine Sandesh in 1962. Satyajit Ray's first color film Mahanagar was released in the year 1963. Few people would know that Jaya Bhiduri started her cine career with this film. Satyajit Ray's another superhit film Nayak was released in 1966. In the film, Uttam Kumar played the role of the protagonist named Arindam Mukherjee.
