Patna: Rizvi, Shakid and Ilyas along with their operatives wreaked havoc in a Mahadalit township in Purnia district of Bihar, setting several houses on fire. At the same time, a retired watchman was beaten to death. Now, the matter is gaining momentum. A team from the Scheduled Castes Commission has reached Majua village under Baysi police station on the night of 19.20.2021 to investigate the incident. More than 150 people torched more than a dozen houses in Mahadalit basti in the incident. The team led by the National Vice Chairman of the Scheduled Castes Commission has demanded speedy arrest of the culprits.

Let us tell you that a similar violence took place there in 2015, but the police camp that followed was removed in 2018. A house was also set on fire on April 24 this year and mahadalits were beaten up. The victims say that even after the FIR, muslims have carried out the incident today due to police inaction. ST Commission National Vice President and MLA MLA from Banamankhi Krishna Kumar Rishi, BJP MLC Dilip Jaiswal and MLA Syed Rukanuddin from Baysi in AIMIM reached the spot and met the victims. SC Krishna Kumar Rishi said, "This is a very sad, inhuman and cruel incident. The administration has so far arrested only 2 people and supplied food. While there are 60 nominees and 100 unidentified accused in two different primary cases".

Expressing concern over the violent attack by Islamic jihadists in Purnia, Bihar, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has demanded early insaf to the affected Mahadalit families. He informed about the incident and said that the pregnant woman was beheaded, other sisters and daughters, children and elderly were attacked with inhuman atrocities and sharp weapons. VHP have expressed apprehension that Bangladeshi and Rohingya Muslim infiltrators were among the attackers. The organisation said that even after three days of the incident, neither the culprits have been caught nor anything has been done about the safety, help or rehabilitation of the victims.
