New Delhi: The country's Sashastra Seema Bal has built 22 Border Out Posts. The construction of border out post can prevent border security forces from deploying to key locations near the Indo-Bhutan border. SSB has now posted several border outs, located at an altitude of more than 12,000 feet above sea level.
SSB has been deployed near the major triangular junction (Indo-Bhutan-Tibet). Border out post will increase the power of border forces. Tri-Junctions are strategically important for the Indian Army. There was a long stand-off run with the Chinese army in 2017. After these 22 border out posts, Sashastra Seema Bal is now very close to securing its sanctioned BOPs, which is 734. SSB now has 722 BOP and only 12 are yet to be constructed.
"These BOPs will enhance the strength of border forces in new border areas, particularly near tri-junction," a top SSB official informed. These new 22 border out posts have been prepared within the stipulated time and most of them are located on the Indo-Bhutan border'.
